ReachUp is a registered non-profit organization and its coaches are volunteers. Coaches receive training and ongoing support from ReachUp board members. Ultimate is a tool for cultivating cross-cultural learning for both trainers and participants.

ReachUp coaches are passionate ambassadors of the sport of ultimate, and accomplished leaders capable of delivering fun workshops that build confidence and develop transferable skills. It is an extremely rewarding experience for all involved. Coaches have the chance to travel to remote and distinct parts of the province and inspire young people to embrace a healthy, active lifestyle in communities that have been systematically under-resourced.

A minimum of two coaches attend each event. Depending on the location, workshops range from half-day to two full-day sessions and in many cases happen on weekdays during school hours. The workshops usually involve between 15 and 100 students from ages 5- to 20-years-old. Through the course of a workshop, coaches will see students brim with new skills and confidence.

Some communities are remote and require fly-in service, while others can be easily accessed by car in a day trip. Coaches receive a small honorarium and ReachUp is grateful that travel expenses have been covered by partner organizations.
